Kandi Burruss says she has no hate in her heart for ex-“Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Phaedra Parks, despite the nasty, and potentially damaging, rumors Parks spread about her on the show.
In a Saturday interview with YouTube personality LaToya Forever, Burruss talked about forgiving castmate Porsha Williams over the Season 9 drama sparked by Parks. The three women had an explosive falling out after Parks, 45, lied and claimed Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker, had intentions of drugging and raping Williams in their so-called “sex dungeon,” — a rumor that was then repeated by Williams herself.
Burruss and Williams have since mended their relationship, but the R&B songstress said she still hasn’t received an apology from Parks.
“To make up that I would drug someone and take them to a place for sex — that is rape,” she explained, acknowledging that while the “sex dungeon” claim was comical, the part about an alleged drugging was not.
Burruss said that while she does not “have any hate in my heart” for her former castmate, she does feel that Parks should be held accountable for her lies. The rumors simply went “too far,” she said.
“In our society today, if somebody is out there drugging and taking advantage of women, we want them in jail,” Burruss added. “We’re canceling them, we don’t want anything to do with them. I want that same energy for someone who would make that up.”
Burruss’ comments sparked a flurry of reactions from fans, some of whom had her back and others who urged her to “get over it” because they want to see Parks back on the show.
“GO AWAY FROM ME WITH THIS!,” one critic wrote. “Porsha ain’t stupid, it was her AND Phaedra playing the dirty game. You can forgive ones and not the other? #BringBackPhaedra 🗣🗣🗣🗣”
“Why is she still talking about this🤦♀️🤦♀️ please let it go!,” another chimed in. “She lies and talk about ppl too.”
One critic asked: “If she doesn’t have any hate in her heart, why threaten to leave if she comes back?”
“Okay no hate in her heart for Phaedra, bring her back! Next 💁🏾♀️,” said another.
Last month, Burruss hinted that she was willing to give up her peach if Parks ever managed to weasel her way back on to “RHOA,” adding that a chance for reconciliation between she and her former friend was slim to none. Many fans sympathized with her, agreeing that Parks’ dirty deeds were hard to forgive.
“I don’t understand why people think she should forgive Phaedra,” one fan commented. “Like they said, having that rumor goin around can ruin your reputation and can effect your career. We have all seen it happen to other celebrities, maybe because most of y’all like Phaedra. But right is right and wrong is wrong.”
“I’m not forgiving nobody who haven’t genuinely apologized or showed remorse for a sake of a show,” wrote another. “Until u in her shoes, let her cope however she chooses.”
On fan added: “I mean Phaedra put out seriously disgusting lies on Kandi , so don’t expect her to be receptive to being around LieDra 🤥 so quickly.”
