Sometimes in life you’ve just got to be proactive.
That could be what T.I.’s daughter Deyjah Harris was thinking when she told older men to stay away ahead of her 18th birthday, which is reportedly June 17.
Her post made its way to the Internet on Friday, and Harris laid out why it’s not okay to holler at her if you’re not the proper age.
“I just wanna quickly say that just because I’m turning 18 in June, that doesn’t mean 1, that y’all will even get the chance lmaoooooo,” she wrote next to a photo of herself.
“2. More importantly, that still don’t make it right for you grown ass men to try and get at me. eighTEEN. I will still be A TEENAGER!!!!,” she added. “If you’re not ok with someone your age tryna get with your daughter, sister, niece, etc. then don’t think it’s ok with me. That’s it and that’s all.”
This isn’t the first time that Harris told guys to stay away.
When she was 16 years old, Tip’s daughter said she had no interest in dating, not until she can be treated the right way.
“Sorry, no boys for me,” she wrote then. “Just a waste of time until someone who can love me and treat me like my dad.”
Plus, on her Instagram page, that shows she has over 1 million followers, Harris wrote “I am 17,” as if it’s a disclaimer to anyone who may think she’s older.
And underneath her recent post about turning 18, the soon-to-be birthday girl was praised for her message, aside from those who thought she was dressed to adult-like in the photo.
“Yes let it be known very smart girl,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Daddy and Momma taught her well!” wrote another.
There was also someone who had a theory about the post, that Harris wasn’t the person who created it.
“Y’all kno T.I hacked her page 😂,” that person commented.
