Are they building their dream home or is it all for an investment?
That’s a question that some are probably asking themselves after it was reported that Cardi B and Offset purchased a strip of five homes in the Atlanta suburb of Jonesboro, Georgia.
According to the Daily Mail, the rappers paid $201,840 for the homes. They also spent $48,080 on an adjacent lot.
At first JMH Ventures President Jeff Dimock, who sold the homes, said he had no idea his company was dealing with a famous couple until closing. He’s also not sure what they’ll do with the properties.
Offset has been listed as the main buyer of the homes and Cardi B an additional buyer.
There’s also someone who lives in one of the houses, and that person is also in the dark about what’s going to be done or whether he’ll have to move in the future. As a matter of fact, the only thing the unknown tenant knows is that his landlord sold the place.
“We’re not being asked to move out or anything. They just sold it. I’d like to stay here, nobody wants to go through the hassle of moving houses,” he said.
This is at least the second time in less than a year that Cardi closed on a new home.
In 2018, the “Money” rapper revealed that she bought her mother a house in New York, one that Cardi said she saved up for. The Bronx native also stated that it was her childhood dream to by her mom a house, which she gave a brief tour of.
“Happiest day of my life,” said Cardi in a video. “Last year I was so thirsty to buy my mom a home, and I could only afford a house that cost $600,000, and you know, we live in New York.”
