Nicki Minaj Breaks With Her Longtime Managers in Possible Move to Work Out Career Kinks

Nicki Minaj has split with her management team, and at this point she’s flying solo with no manger at all.

According to Variety, the “Chun Li” rapper is no longer with Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson of Blueprint Group and Maverick Management after being with them for most of her career.

It’s been said the breakup was both amicable and mutual and the reason for the change is unknown. But some might say it’s due to a few mishaps.

For example, in August 2018, Minaj rescheduled the North American leg of her NICKIHNDRXX Tour with Future and chalked it up to a lack of proper rehearsal time.

And because of electrical problems, she also canceled dates on her 2019 European tour in France, Slovakia, Bordeaux and Bratislava.

But a New York Post report said the tour was postponed because of low ticket sales, and since then some of the talk has been that Minaj’s career has cooled since she grew to popularity.

At the same time, others have shot down that reasoning, especially since Minaj’s last album, “Queen,” reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Yet, one could still have the opinion that Minaj’s public image has seen better days. Because some criticized her for not sharing the spotlight with Cardi B when the Bronx rapper’s “Bodak Yellow” exploded.

And even though Cardi was the aggressor and tried to fight Minaj at a party during New York Fashion Week last year, some blamed Minaj for the whole thing.

Plus, there’s been a bevy of new female rappers that have grown to popularity since the “Anaconda” rhymer hit the scene, and she’s been accused of not embracing them or celebrating the presence of more women in rap’s forefront.

But amid the talk and management split, Minaj is still keeping busy. Because she’s now promoting a new single titled “Wobble Up” with Chris Brown and G-Eazy. She’s also going on tour with Brown this summer.
