Actor/rapper Kevin McCall was arrested on charges of domestic violence Monday ahead of a scheduled arrangement stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 14.
The star, who is the ex-boyfriend of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Eva Marcille, was arrested at the Compton Courthouse on April 15, records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department show.
McCall was scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court at the Airport Courthouse the morning of Tuesday, April 16. The summons stems from felony charges for injuring a spouse or cohabitant. The California penal code states he could face up to four years in state prison for the incident or have a one-year stint in county jail. Alternatively, he may be fined up to $6,000 or he could face both a fine and imprisonment.
A spokesperson with the L.A. Superior Court told Atlanta Black Star Wednesday that McCall posted $75,000 bond, and records from the sheriff’s department state the star was released Tuesday afternoon.
McCall is next due in court on April 30. He has not spoken out about the arrest and charges.
The rapper-actor’s arrest follows accusations of stalking made by his ex-girlfriend on “RHOA” weeks earlier. Marcille, who shares 5-year-old daughter Marley Rae with her ex, has claimed she’s had to move homes several times as well as get a restraining order to keep McCall from coming near her.
“Every time I move, he finds me,” Marcille said of the man she refers to as Marley’s donor. “Because of that, I live in multiple places. Safety is a priority for me.
“I still feel a sense of threat. I have had to move five times, and I still feel a sense of uneasiness,” she went on. “He’s just so petty sometimes. I’ve walked outside of my balcony before and he’s been standing in the dark. And it is the scariest feeling ever.”
McCall has denied stalking Marcille. He fired off on Twitter that the “America’s Next Top Model” alum is using his name to keep her “RHOA” storyline afloat.
“It’s sad when she gotta keep using my name for her story line, if I was the husband I would be like ‘Real hoe of Atlanta is you out your mind, or is you still obsessed with your child’s Father? Why is he in our story line so much ain’t I enuff headline for our relationship?’ 🤣” he tweeted in March when the episode aired.
Marcille’s fans have reacted to the news of her ex’s arrest for domestic violence.
“Eva told y’all and y’all said she was using him for a storyline but AIGHT. 🌻🌻🌻🌻”
“And y’all wonder why Eva don’t want him anywhere near her [daughter].”
“Y’all swore Eva was lying.”
“Nobody wanted to believe Eva. Ain’t nobody got to lie about continued abuse. Sad.”
