Naturi Naughton Says Her Former 3LW Group Member Kiely Williams Threw Chicken At Her Once But Williams Says She’s Lying

If you were introduced to Naturi Naughton the singer before you were the actress, then you might’ve heard a rumor about a fight involving her former 3LW group mates and some fried chicken.

Besides Naughton, 3LW consisted of “The Real‘s” Adrienne Bailon as well as Kiely Williams, and they released their self-titled album in 2000. But Naughton left the group in 2002 and was replaced by a woman named Jessica Benson.

And as it turns out, according to Naughton, the fried chicken fight wasn’t a rumor, it actually happened, which she talked about on TV One’s “Uncensored” in a teaser. Williams had plenty to say about the clip afterwards.

“A lot of people ask me, ‘Did y’all really have a fight at KFC?’ Yes we did,” said Naughton in the clip.

She then explained the fight was about her bandmates wanting her out of the group, which at the time was mentioned on Wendy Williams’ radio show.

Naughton said she was in the very back of a suburban when the whole thing went down, and the other ladies were sitting in front of her.

“I said I’m not the one who’s trying to kick me out the group,” Naughton recalled. “Don’t be mad that Wendy Williams or the news is out, because it’s true. And there were some names called, some profanities thrown, she turned around, Kiely, and threw the food — mash potatoes, chicken and whatever else was in there — in my face.”

Naughton got out of the car from there and said she was going home. The actress also said the other girls drove off in the suburban and left her stranded in a parking lot in Atlanta.

Williams had two responses to the story. In one of them, she posted Naughton’s “Uncensored” clip and wrote “You are such a liar.” That message has since been deleted.

Williams then posted a video and doubled down on her claim that the “Power” actress is being untruthful.

“So I’m over here being a mom,” she said in the clip posted Friday. “Literally bothering no one … And then I hear not only did I pie her in the face with chicken and mash potatoes, we left her on the side of the road. First of all, no, we didn’t.”

“And second of all, why would you need to make up new lies? Williams added. “Were the old ones not working anymore? I don’t see the point. I’m not in the entertainment industry anymore, I’m a mom. I’m over here. You are on a hit television show. Why do you need this?”

But if Williams thought she’d get a lot of support for denying the chicken throwing incident, she was dead wrong. In fact, some said she’s the one who’s lying.

“Naturi is booked and busy she don’t need to make up lies about you,” someone wrote under Williams’ post. “You were a bully and karma is a bitch. Deal with it.”

“I’m going to be so honest and say, don’t get mad that she telling HER truth,” another person chimed in. “She does not need to lie but that was her experience and the reason why she left the group. The fact that you even brought it up makes me think that you have some type of guilt about it.”

Perhaps wisely, Bailon has stayed quiet about all of this, but she did apologize to Naughton when the actress stopped by “The Real” in 2017.

Naughton’s “Uncensored” episode airs Sunday on TV One at 10:00 p.m. EST.
