A recent update about Kenya Moore’s baby girl caused some confusion and led “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum to clear the air.
On Wednesday, March 27, Moore uploaded a photo of her daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly to Instagram, marking the infant’s 5-month birthday.
“#5months I’m getting my weight up… 13lbs and counting 👶🏽 #miraclebaby #brooklyndaly,” the caption read.
“I thought she was born early November ? No?” a fan asked.
Brooklyn — through her mom, Moore, who runs the account — set the record straight about her age.
“@sassy_cyn_ I’m 20 weeks old so I’m 5 months,” the reply read.
Even still, a debate ensued over how Brooklyn, who was born on Nov. 4 weighing in at 5 lbs. and 12 oz., can be five months old given the timeline.
“@thebrooklyndaly that’s 4 months. April will be 5 months (Dec was 1 month, Jan was 2 months, Feb was 3 months and Mar is 4 months). Note: I’m a mother of two and grandmother of two.”
“@thebrooklyndaly ok but that doesn’t make her 5 months Kenya…you count a month from date to date.”
“@lainieb3292018 it didn’t change the fact 20 weeks doesn’t equal 5 months. Simple maths will tell you that. I wasn’t criticising anybody just stating a fact. No different to people assuming pregnancy lasts for 9 months when in fact full term is 40 weeks which is 10 months or at least closer to 10 than it is to 9. Just saying 😂”
This is not the first time puzzled comments abounded surrounding Brooklyn’s age. When Moore marked her daughter’s 3-month birthday on Jan. 27, fans chimed in to say it seemed as if the new mom was celebrating a little early.
“I thought she was born on February 4th? That’s not 3 months ago, but that is 12 weeks ago.”
“I thought your baby was bore on November 4th how is she 3 months already? Its not making sense.”
However, Moore marked Brooklyn’s 4-month birthday without incident. In fact, the praise was piled on when the impressive “miracle baby” was pictured holding her bottle all by herself.
“She’s a scholar already ”
“Wow! She can hold her bottle?! She’s growing up very fast’
Some said the move was Brooklyn’s method of getting out of the way for another bundle of joy. And if Moore gets her way, she’d definitely give her daughter a sibling.
She told People magazine in December 2018, “I don’t know if my body can do it, but we would love to have one more. I want a little boy!”
