Usher drove his fans wild with a post that implied he’d be releasing a sequel to his classic 2004 album “Confessions.”
On Wednesday, March 27, the R&B star shared a photo of himself sitting in the studio next to a whiteboard, and on top it says “Confessions 2.” He probably added even more excitement with the caption.
“Dis what yall want…,” wrote Usher, and the resounding answer among his fans was a huge yes.
“Now you know damn well it’s what we want,” someone wrote under the post.
“IM FINNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK!” wrote another excited fan. “He know this what we beeeeeeeeen wanting! Ohhhh MAH GAWD!”
Jermaine Dupri, who produced “Confessions” with some help from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, posted the same photo of the singer on Wednesday and wrote, “Usher Party !!”
And although Dupri was vague in the caption about “Confessions 2” coming, he was a little more clear in another Instagram post shared on Thursday, March 28.
“C2,” wrote the So So Def founder next to a picture of himself with headphones on working on a drum machine. Usher, meanwhile, is in the background looking on in a blue hoodie.
“I’m here for it,” one person wrote under Dupri’s post.
“I can’t wait until this album comes out bcuz I am definitely gonna be getting me a hard copy n I might just get about 10 copies to be on the safe side,” another person commented.
Reaching its 15-year anniversary on March 23, 2019, “Confessions” reportedly sold more than 20 million albums internationally and was the second-best-selling album of the 2000s. It also lived atop the Billboard 200 charts for nine straight weeks.
The LP also thrust the singer’s career into the stratosphere in terms of pop stardom and overall visibility with hits like “Yeah!” “Burn,” “Caught Up,” and “My Boo.”
