“Growing Up Hip Hop” star Angela Simmons shared a photo that seemingly reminded folks of Michael Jackson’s fashion style, and now she’s being asked if she supports him.
Since the airing of the HBO documentary “Neverland” on March 4 — where two men accused the pop star of sexually abusing them as children, a slew of celebrities like T.I., Joseline Hernandez, Sia Voices and more have spoken out in support of Jackson, who died in 2009.
Simmons, who has yet to give her opinion on the matter, was recently photographed wearing an ensemble that reminded fans of the “Smooth Criminal” artist — which prompted them to ask what her stance is on the allegations against him.
The 31-year-old took to Instagram on March 6 and shared a fashion post of her edgy style. She donned a gray cinched hoodie, a pair of zipper-embellished leather pants and black platforms. She also accessorized her look with a gold watch, a black shoulder bag, and black Fedora. The entire fashion look, including the black fedora which apparently reminded fans of the one Jackson was known for wearing, left fans asking Simmons if she supported the singer.
“Is this a MJ vibe?” one fan asked. “We’re just curious 🤷🏾.”
Another fan commented, “So you basically saying you support Michael Jackson by giving off Michael Jackson vibes?”
“So you can basically dress like MJ but not say s–t about the documentary. Weird flex but k 🙄,” another added.
Although the “GUHH” star hasn’t vocalized addressed the Jackson issue, other reality stars like Hernandez has done so. The “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” actress ostensibly spoke out against all those who were a part of the HBO documentary for trying to “benefit” from the “Thriller” singer’s legacy.
She wrote on Instagram on March 4, “The same people that benefited from him now are throwing stones at his grave. Literally. Stand for something or fall for anything. Everything is not what it seems. Lord forgive the ones that are willing to benefit from him once again while he tries to Rest In Peace.”
She continued, “@prpfoundation is going to make sure our kind of kids can be aware of the chess move the masters play to keep all the money, silence us and try to make another slave #RIPMJ.”
The four-hour film, which concluded on March 4, explored James Safechuck and Wade Robson about the alleged abuse they experienced while staying at the singer’s estate.
The documentary has been condemned by the entire Jackson family, who called it a “public lynching.”
