It’s been about two months since Michelle Williams ended her engagement to Pastor Chad Johnson, and now she’s given fans an update.
On Thursday an Instagram post showed the Destiny’s Child singer sporting braids, sunglasses and a black leather jacket, and she addressed her fans in the caption.
“All is well,” she wrote. “Now back to my cave.”
The post has since been deleted, which seems to be another sign that Williams hasn’t been in a social media mood since splitting with Johnson. Her last Instagram post before this week was on Dec. 27 when she shared images from a photo shoot.
Besides the recent selfie, the 38-year-old also uploaded a promotional video for the BET miniseries “American Soul” that tells the story of “Soul Train” and it’s creator Don Cornelius. Williams plays the part of Diana Ross in the series, which starts Feb. 7 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
The airing of “American Soul,” plus the recent Instagram posts may be a sign that Williams is returning to the public eye. It’s possible she’ll reveal more about the breakup at some point as well.
Johnson, for his part, spoke about it during the finale of his show with Williams “Chad Loves Michelle” and admitted to being “Broken up.”
But the singer hasn’t addressed the split since she apologized to her ex and his family on Instagram Stories.
“To @elevateint, and everybody in leadership that I met through @chadjohnson77, his family and friends. I am so sorry that I couldn’t be what I desired to be to your leader,” she wrote to Johnson’s family and his non-profit organization Elevate International on Dec. 9. “To all the young ppl (and some old ones🙈) that were hopeful and inspired by the love we had, I’m so sorry that I let you down.”
After Williams’ posted her selfie, the opinions on how she looked were split.
“Need that hair,” someone wrote.
“She looks pretty,” said a second fan.
“She looks unwell,” another person chimed in.
“She’s going through it I can tell,” said one fan. While another fan said “Nahh something wrong.”
