Cynthia Bailey’s Ex Peter Thomas Gets Fans’ Attention When He Springs His Hidden Talent

Peter Thomas has proved he’s a jack of all trades. After successfully launching Sports One Bar & Lounge in Charlotte, N.C., in 2015 and Club One a year later, the entrepreneur debuted a new, unexpected talent.

While encouraging locals to come to Sports One to join in on a brunch day party this past weekend, Thomas touted the theme, which is “I Love Music.” Then, he proceeded to share just how true that was for him.

“I love music!” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star began crooning as he bobbed to the 1975 tune of the same name by The O’Jays. “Any kind of music. I love music, just as long as it’s groovy. I love, I love, I love, I love, I love, I love music.”

“BEST FOOD BEST DRINKS. BEST MUSIC @sportsoneclt #charlotte #queencity,” he captioned his post.

While several fans made a vow to show up to the bar Feb. 2, others were blown away by Thomas’ voice.

“👀 alright Peter you sounds very good weather okay I hear you singing sounds nice peter sing some more saying some more Peter.”

“You just full of surprises a beautiful singing voice too. You are amazing💋”

“Peter you can really sing.”

“@peterthomasrhoa you know how to promote the hell outa your Biz! And you can carry a note. I keep telling my Mom I feel like we’re related. No joke 🤷🏽‍♀️”

But not everyone was a fan of Thomas’ impromptu performance.

“Don’t quit your day job.”

“If you keep singing I won’t love music!!LOL”

“Chill wit the singing lol not your thing unc”

“Yo pos you cannot sing you needs chill before you end up on tmz.”

Thomas doesn’t appear to be bothered by the haters, however. While he’s gearing up for the big event Saturday, he’s also been steadily working on the grand opening of Bar One’s new Miami Beach location. After hosting a soft opening of the new location earlier this month, he’s partnering with pal and comedian Tone X and V 101.9 to give out an all-expenses-paid trip to the grand opening. The exact date, however, has yet to be disclosed.

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
