Meghan McCain Flooded with Praise After Her Name Appears as a Clue on ‘Jeopardy!’ While Critics Poke Fun

TV host Meghan McCain was over the moon, as were her fans after her name appeared as an answer on the iconic trivia game show “Jeopardy!” last week.

“Last night I was a question on @jeopardy!,” McCain, who co-hosts ABC’s “The View,” wrote in a tweet Friday. “One of the most exciting things ever – I love Jeopardy and (host) Alex Trebek!”

Her loyal fans quickly joined in on the excitement, saying the moment proved she’d finally “made it.”

“Awww, that’s a nice Christmas bonus!” one user commented.

“Aaaaaaah, you have finally made it!” another chimed in. “Next is SNL (Saturday Night Live!).”

A fellow fan agreed, writing, “You know you’re truly a ‘star’ when you’ve either made it onto Jeopardy as a question or into a crossword puzzle as an answer.”

“I’m not sure it gets better than this!!!! yay friend!,” producer and journalist Melanie Berilet commented under the post.

While fans were busy praising McCain’s shining moment, critics couldn’t help but poke fun at her lack of understanding of the game. For instance, one user pointed out that McCain was the answer, not the question, to the clue that read, “where to watch Megan McCain in the morning.” Of course, “Jeopardy!” answers must be phrased as questions, and the clues are framed as declaratory sentences.

Another user wrote that they would pose a different question that went a little something like this: “I would ask ‘who is more entitled to everything cause of the McCain name for $800.’ Meghan, please change your attitude for the new season, and put into your blonde head that you don’t run the view.”

“I’m surprised the question wasn’t ‘who is the rude member of the view,” wrote another.

“All we want for Christmas is for MM to exit the View & go to podcasting,” one critic opined. “Her presence on any televised program makes it so hostile & uncomfortable. Her smarts can be useful behind the scenes.”
