‘Don’t Hold Her Underneath Her Armpits:’ Kenya Moore Gets Criticized for How She Handles Baby Brooklyn

Kenya Moore has been a new mom for just over one month but mommy shamers have already crawled out of the woodwork.

A week after Moore debuted her baby girl Brooklyn’s face to the world, she’s clearly basking in motherhood and giving her daughter tons of affection. The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared such a moment with fans Sunday.

“#6weeksold May God bless you and may all your heart’s desires come true. I never gave up, kept praying and believing in God’s plan for my life. Stay prayerful He has your back. ❤️ #babybrooklyn #love #faith #family #godsspeed #pray,” Moore captioned a photo of her kissing her daughter Dec. 16.

Many fans oohed and ahhed over the sweet moment.

“This is a beautiful picture!!”

“🙌🙌🙌💖💖💖💖 Beautiful Bountiful Blessing.”

“Such a cutie pie!! Beautiful, have one more!”

But others offered parenting tips and commanded Moore to stop smooching her infant — whom Moore has been wanting for years before going through an arduous pregnancy and delivery to have her — on the lips and stop holding her under her armpits.

“People please stop kissing babies in the face. The amount of germs that we have on us is crazy.”

“Girl, stop kissing that baby in the Mouth. You know you done had dicks dated back from the 90’s on the mouth… Smh.”

“Kenya dont hold her underneath her armpits. She’s just a bundle of soft tissue and can become QUITE sore from all the manipulation of being constantly picked up and held/dangled in the air by her armpits.”

“Y’all better stop kissing these newborn precious babies on their mouth!🤨 Do your homework…it’s NOT HEALTHY!”

“Stop kissing a baby in the mouth given a baby grown folks at germs. That’s where the baby gets thrush in the mouth And nowadays it can get bad and deadly.”

Moore is not alone in being mommy shamed for how she shows affection for her daughter. Gabrielle Union, who faced similar difficulties getting pregnant, also battled the same criticism for the daughter she welcomed via surrogate in November.

While Moore has kept quiet, Union hit back at her detractors by assuring folks she’s perfectly fine to kiss baby Kaavia.
