As 2018 draws to a close, it seems Tamar Braxton is looking to turn over a new leaf and make things right with her family.
The singer posted a lengthy message on Instagram Tuesday, Dec. 11 and vowed to take responsibility for her part in the division among her sisters that was captured on “Braxton Family Values” last season.
“Sometimes you have to check yourself before you wreck yourself!!!!!” she began. “Most of what you’ve seen on #BFV was LIES and clips put together with me acting a PLUM FOOL for ratings (believe it or not) and sometimes I simply was one. BUT what is FACTUAL is that it tore my family & sisterhood apart.”
Braxton went on to say she’s going to walk into 2019 by doing things differently and putting the “bitter, combative, woe is me person” to bed. And beginning with Trina Braxton, whom the star recently had a night out with, Tamar is going to make amends with her siblings.
“It’s ugly and frankly stupid!!” she continued. “I’ve decided I’ve realized change is just one simple DECISION!!!! No matter what it takes my commitment to me is to be a BETTER me. Sometimes all it takes is saying I Love you and I’m sorry for MY PART of the bulls— @trinabraxton1 #funsisternight #onebyone #jesushewilfixit.”
Trina welcomed her younger sister’s olive branch.
Fans applauded the move.

But others wanted to know why Tamar didn’t address her rift with Traci Braxton. The pair notably had an emotional heart to heart facilitated by Iyanla Vanzant which saw Tamar breakdown in tears begging for forgiveness.
“I’m confused. I thought rift in the sisterhood was between Traci and Tamar. Either way, glad your family is patching things up. #familyfirst.”
“I love that you acknowledged all your antics on TV. I hope you and Tracy will heal too cause it was hard to watch and rewind and watch again how badly you treated her. Time heals all wounds and you will grow god is good and I hope your faith and honesty can allow all of you to press restart as if nothing ever happened. Growth.”
