Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie Harvey spent their Thanksgiving away from the States this year, instead electing to celebrate in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. That meant they didn’t consume the standard turkey and cranberry sauce on the holiday, which left a bad taste in one Instagram user’s mouth.
“Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours #nontraditionalmeal #blessed 🙏🏽” Marjorie said in a photo from dinner on Thursday, Nov. 22.

The atypical Turkey Day meal didn’t bother all the fans. Many praised the family snapshot and wished the Harveys a happy Thanksgiving.

But a dinner that didn’t include the usual American fixings left one commenter irate and they tore into Marjorie as a result.
“Why do you keep hauling Steve away every year for Thanksgiving. Steve like been with all his family sitting around the table eating turkey and dressing, macaroni and cheese collards not that nontraditional food. Let Steve enjoy his holiday with all his family. That’s all Steve be talking about on his show leading up to Thanksgiving all the traditional food he wants. You can go to those places anytime.”
One fan, however, found no issue with the non-traditional meal.
