Considering Lil’ Kim makes a living at coming up with words for her songs, she had a hard time writing something about Kim Porter, who passed away last week from unknown causes.
Sometime on Thanksgiving, the Brooklyn rapper posted a tribute to the late model, which included a video of her playing the piano. There was also a photo of Porter spending time with her family and ex Sean “Diddy” Combs as well.
And in the caption space, Lil’ Kim wrote about Porter’s many talents but said being a wonderful mother was her greatest achievement.
“I’ve tried to write something so many times, but I can’t put into words how special @ladykp was,” she wrote. “There are so many memories with the family and although you were talented at many things, you had one of the major roles and held down the family like none other.”
“With today being about family, I can’t help but honor this amazing woman and the family,” added the rapper. “Hold your family tight a little longer today. I will always be there for my extended family. Thanks for all of your prayers. Rest in Paradise, Kim Porter.”
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News reports that Porter will be buried at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in her hometown of Columbus, Ga. next to her mother and grandmother on Saturday, Nov. 24. And services will be held at Cascade Hills Church, where Faith Evans is supposed to sing.
Diddy, however, won’t give the eulogy since he’s still too distraught to speak.
