T.I. Helps Ring In the Holiday Cheer with Turkey Giveaway In Atlanta

T.I. spread holiday cheer ahead of Thanksgiving Day when he hosted a drive to give away turkeys to grandparents who raise their grandchildren.

The rapper partnered with the City of Atlanta Tuesday, Nov. 20 to make it happen, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Sponsored in part by T.I.’s non-profit organization, the Harris Community Foundation, the MC and his daughter Heiress Harris were on tap to help give turkeys to elderly residents at C.T. Martin Recreation Center, formerly known as the Adamsville Recreational Center.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Councilman C.T. Martin were also on hand to aid in the giveaway, which also included giving away canned goods and fresh produce like apples, carrots, greens and peppers, according to Vibe magazine.

Tip, whose real name is Clifford Harris, continued his tradition for the 13th year in a row through his organization, which centers on community development programs aiming to improve conditions in poverty-stricken areas.

“We been there… filling the gap in our community… Doing our part for the people 13 years straight,” Tip said on Instagram Wednesday, Nov. 21. “And it’s been an absolute pleasure. Always honored to do what we can for the community that was there for me first. Broadcasting Live from da Westside!!!! Special Thanks to @keishabottoms @andreaboonenow & the City of Atlanta for joining us. Happy Holidays. #HarrisCommunityWorks.”

Fans applauded T.I.’s efforts in the community, which comes a month after news that he is redeveloping his old neighborhood to create affordable housing.
