Blac Chyna is facing criticism for her partnership with a high-end skin bleaching product.
The former reality TV star is teaming with Whitenicious by Dencia to launch a product called Whitenicious x Blac Chyna Diamond Illuminating & Lightening Cream, TMZ reported Monday, Nov. 19. The product, which is geared toward men and women with skin discoloration, is priced at $250. It comes in a jar that’s studded with Swarovski crystals.
A product description reveals the cream is said to provide a “brightening glow for younger-looking skin, helps renew texture and revitalizes skin’s hydration.”
Blac Chyna’s representatives also told the celebrity gossip site that the model has been using the luxury skincare product line’s dark spot corrector for a few years to combat hyperpigmentation.
Apparently, the star feels the partnership is a good move, since many non-white women deal with skin problems. According to Whitenicious by Dencia’s website, the products contain “natural, safe, organic ingredients for rich body nourishment. Whitenicious products feature no hydroquinone, no steroids or mercury and no parabens.”
But Chyna is stirring controversy over a flyer that she posted on Instagram Monday stating she’ll be flying to Lagos, Nigeria, to promote the product next week.
“Lagos Nigeria, join me at the first official launch of my face cream this Sunday, November 25th at the Whitenicious store from 1-5PM. Everyone is invited. @whitenicious,” she said in the caption.
“Blac Chyna is really going to launch her whitening cream in Nigeria 🤦🏿♀️ On her first ever trip to Africa 🤦🏿♀️Ata PR foreplay at least..?”
“Black Hypocrisy at its best. She needs to buy @spiceofficial Captured album.”
“Blac Chyna is taking advantage of the insecurities of colourism and self hate. She is disgusting. Skin whitening cream is horrible. This should not be advertised and she is choosing Africa for a reason. Shameful.”
“Blac Chyna is going to Lagos, Nigeria to promote a bleaching cream and I am honestly disgusted.”
