Dr. Simone Whitmore and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe got into a heated argument on Saturday night’s “Married to Medicine” episode and when fans accused Whitmore of being wasted, her husband stepped up to defend her.
As the couples took a boat around Antigua, Dr. Simone extended a welcome to Metcalfe, who mentioned her absence was due to her double mastectomy.
“It was irrelevant to the moment!” Whitmore fired off. “You are shoving that surgery down our face!”
Metcalfe underwent the procedure as a precaution against cancer as both of her parents have battled the disease. Whitmore speculated that Metcalfe wanted to use it as an excuse to avoid being around Toya Bush-Harris, who hit the occupational medicine MD in the chest.
As Whitmore and Metcalfe’s voices grew more and more shrill through crosstalk, the women got in one another’s faces. Dr. Simone ultimately walked away and told husband Cecil Whitmore, “she hasn’t been around, she’s been on edge. Not my f—ing problem.”
The remark led Metcalfe’s husband to defend his wife and Dr. Simone blew up on him and demanded he not speak to her.
Cecil assured fans on Twitter that his spouse’s outburst was all her and not the alcohol.
“I know people don’t believe it, but the yelling has nothing to do with the rum punch. Trust me. 🤷🏾♂️ #Married2Med.”
But one viewer remained unconvinced.
“Don’t believe You. She YELLS like that sober? Alcohol does bad things to good people…sad to watch. Would never have for my Dr. someone that drinks alcohol & YELLS as much as We see Simone on #Married2Med. Wonder if You all believe YELLING + bad behavior=job security @BravoTV?”
“You don’t have to worry about a job when you are the boss. 🤷🏾♂️. The only difference with our show is you get to see a doctor outside the office. Trust me ur doctor on the golf course & vacation is different. I hang with a lot of doctors. 🤷🏾♂️😃 #Married2Med,” Dr. Simone’s husband replied.
