Several months ago, Mo’Nique revealed she weighs under 200 pounds for the first time in her adult life and the comedian has continued to keep up with her fitness ever since.
But although she made it clear back in March that she achieved the weight loss without the help of surgery, speculation has persisted that maybe the “Queens of Comedy” star has gone under the knife.
“For me it was no surgery, no prepackaged foods, not listening to no spokespeople saying ‘it’s easy and you can do it,’” she said in a video at the time. “It was just putting in the work and not giving up on me … it’s called giving yourself a chance to live the best life you can live.”
So on Tuesday, Oct. 30, Mo’Nique went on the record again to prove the only so-called procedure she had done to drop the extra pounds is a dance-off with her instructor.
“SURGERY YOU ASK? Baby this is all the SURGERY I’ve ever done. DANCE SURGERY. @dwightholtjr is my SURGEON. Sisters it works. Benefits-LONGER LIFE. Love y’all 4 real,” she said before linking to her website, moniqueworldwide.com.
As further proof, Mo included a clip of her grooving to a high-energy beat with fitness instructor Dwight Holt Jr. of Dance Your Pounds Off.
Fans ate up the video and the comic’s message.
