Nene Leakes wants fans to know she is the rightful queen of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” despite the drama surrounding former castmate Kenya Moore’s departure.
During a Twitter Q&A Leakes hosted Tuesday, Oct. 23 following her suspect support for Moore’s baby shower, one fan asked her what made her come back to RHOA following a two-season absence as a full-time cast member from 2015-2016.
“Glad you’re back on the show? What made you decide to rejoin the cast? Love seeing all of you ladies😊,” the Twitter user asked.
“RHOA is my baby! I started this franchise, shot the pilot and waited 4 it to be shopped! There’s never been a season where @Bravotv @Andy didn’t ask me back. I honestly needed a mental break,” Leakes answered.
Soon after, the show’s executive producer Andy Cohen chimed in, quote retweeting her response and adding, “#RHOA is the house that Nene built!”
Leakes then shared the response on her Instagram page writing in the caption, “Well I guess we can all go to sleep wit our wigs off! Andy has spoken…Drops mic! Good nite b—-#RHOA #facts 💯 put some RESPECT on my name☝🏾”

The declaration came during a Q&A session where Leakes addressed her show of support for Moore, who has been cut from the show.
“She should be a housewife! Bravo is crazy,” she said in an Instagram comment.
During the chat, Leakes admitted she was being sarcastic but “my well wishes were pure & from the heart!”
Meanwhile, Leakes told the fan of her brief departure from Housewives that there had never been a time when Bravo head honchos did not ask her to return. Currently, Moore is not being included on RHOA season 11 because she refuses to share her married life on camera.
With that in mind, fans let loose on Leakes’ Instagram post.
