Tamar Braxton may be on the fritz with her family since the dramatic “Braxton Family Values” season finale nearly two weeks ago, but she’s managed to get on speaking terms with a few of her family members.
While addressing her controversial walk out on Iyanla Vanzant’s mediation session with the singer, her sisters and her parents on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Braxton shared a startling detail about her sister, Toni Braxton. She also disclosed which siblings she’s recently spoken to.
“I talked to my mom last night. I talked to Towanda last night. I talked to Toni last night,” she said on the Sunday, Oct. 14 broadcast of the Bravo program. “She has lupus, but she’s in the hospital and so I made sure she’s ok. So I’m going to go to Atlanta and check on her.”
By Tuesday, Oct. 16, however, Toni’s representatives had told Essence magazine the “Breathe Again” singer was not hospitalized.
“Toni is in L.A. rehearsing for her forthcoming tour. She is not in the hospital,” the rep said.
As for her other sisters, Traci Braxton has gone on record to say they aren’t getting along right now and she said she hasn’t spoken to Tamar — whom she butted heads with the most when she continued filming after Tamar and the rest of the family walked out on the show — since March.
Still, it may come as a surprise that Tamar is talking to any of her family considering the stunning admission she made on the BFV finale on Oct. 4.
“I’m confessing that although I love my family, most of the time I don’t like my family. Everyone in my family,” the performer said during the emotional episode. “It’s like I’m angry at everybody in my family. I don’t like my family. If they weren’t my family, they wouldn’t be my friends.”
