Rich the Kid Criticized For Wearing a Robe to Awards Show: ‘Etiquette and Class Speak Volumes’

Some are questioning whether Rich the Kid should’ve worn a robe to The American Music Awards last week. Not too long ago, the Georgia-raised rapper posted a photo of himself sporting the gold colored Versace robe, that he paired with a slew of chains and some big rings.

“Woke up out the bed and went to #Amas in my Versace robe,” Rich captioned the photo.

“[That’s] the best way to do it,” someone wrote in the comments.

“Take off my robe, king,” wrote someone else, apparently pleased with the rapper’s fashion choice.

But others seemed to say the robe looked gaudy and even though it was expensive, it should’ve stayed hung on the bathroom door.

‘Exactly why you win no awards,’ said one fan.

‘They should have never given black people money😂 😂😂,’ said another fan.

Another fan said ‘Went back to bed with no award:(.”

One person even used the billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffet to make their point.

“And this is why Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are some of the richest men in the world,” wrote Instagram user Sun320shine. “When you realize name brand doesn’t mean you’re rich. Etiquette and class speak volumes.”

The last time Rich made headlines for something other than his music was a few months ago when he got into a heated argument with a man over his estranged wife Antonette Willis. Willis filed for divorce earlier this year after accusing the rapper of abuse.
