Russell Wilson recently had a guy’s night out with his young stepson, Future Zahir Wilburn, and fans have been gushing over the moment.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback treated Future to a basketball game Friday, Oct. 5 where the duo visited Seattle’s Key Arena and watched the Golden State Warriors defeat the Sacramento Kings 122-94.
“Guys Night Watching @NBA Hoops #Warriors,” Russell captioned the post.
It was accompanied by a video of Wilson asking wife Ciara’s son if he was ready for tip-off.
“Yes!” the 4-year-old exclaimed.
The video and photo of Future cuddled next to a smiling Wilson had fans giving the QB praise for his relationship with his stepson.
“This picture says so much about you as a MAN! 💪🏾”
“Say what u want but Russell Wilson is a stand up guy taking care of baby future with no hesitation man that’s a good man.”
“Thank God he has a real man in his life🙏❤️ you are a great dad and role model for him 😊”
“My respect to u Russ. Amazing ❤️”
“THIS IS AMAZING….STAY BLESSED @dangerusswilson #futurezahir 😘”
“May God bless you for taking this little guy under your wing as you have. You’re so amazing for this!”
While praise for Wilson currently abounds, it wasn’t always this way for the NFLer.
In July 2016, social media users were fired up over Wilson claiming Future as his own, as evidenced by the toddler’s name for the pro footballer: Papa.
Even still, Wilson has never hesitated to embrace CiCi’s son, even explaining his bond with the tot to People magazine not long after marrying the singer in 2016.
“I think ultimately, the one thing I can say about being a step-dad and any person that’s a parent — but especially when you come into a new situation — the key is loving the child as your own,” Wilson said. “That’s the biggest thing.”
