Superstar producer Jermaine Dupri was supposed to hit the road for his So So Def 25th-anniversary tour this Sunday, but the star says it won’t be happening until a week later.
Dupri announced he’d push back the start date for the reunion tour on Wednesday, Oct. 3 explaining his decision on Twitter.
“To all my fans, I know what I’m bout to say is gonna create a very very big 🔥 but due to my schedule and creative changes I don’t feel comfortable starting this tour on the 14th, I honestly believe I need another week to get this to where I want it to be.”
Dupri announced The So So Def 25th Anniversary Cultural Curren$y tour in July, which will include Dupri, who founded the Atlanta-based label as a teen in 1993, along with Xscape, Jagged Edge, and Bow Wow among other acts.
“I feel like with my artists and even myself, people don’t pay enough attention to how much we mean to the culture and how much So So Def meant to breaking the South and making people pay attention to Atlanta,” he told the Associated Press when he initially made news of the tour public.

Rather than kicking off Sunday, Oct. 14, the tour will now start on Oct. 21. It’s still slated to begin in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena.
Since Dupri shared the postponed launch date of the show, fans have sounded off on the matter.
Some were bothered by the concerts being delayed.
“I hope Atl date doesn’t change. Already bought my airline ticket and took vacation. Coming from different country.”

But most were fine with the hitmaker taking his time to perfect his vision.
