News outlets reported the music executive was fired by rapper Remy Ma in February after he was accused of not being able to fulfill his managerial duties. His dwindling relationship with Braxton allegedly distracted him from focusing on his work and clients and eventually led to the “Conceited” star severing all ties with Herbert.
“Well, me and Vince never had any official paperwork,” Remy told talk show host Wendy Williams during an interview. “He wanted to come onto my project and help me with my project – I signed a really great deal with Columbia Records – and when all of that was happening, he started going through his own personal things.”
The rap diva said there’s no bad blood with Herbert and the decision to end business with one another was mutual. As a married woman, Remy said she understands how important family is and wanted the music exec to focus on his marriage with Braxton more than anything.
“Just knowing how I am with my husband, to me, family comes before everything, and I wanted him to be able to put a 150% into me, but I also wanted him 250% into his relationship and things going on at home. It was kind of like a mutual decision,” she added.
The “Love and Hip Hop” star parted ways with Herbert after he dropped the ball on things like booking studio time and scheduling performances. She said Herbert came up short on his promises of being a “super manager” according to TMZ.
Braxton’s mom accused the super producer of physically and mentally abusing Tamar for years. She revealed to “Sister Circle” last year that one time when she was babysitting her grandson Logan she saw her estranged son-in-law assaulting Tamar.
Herbert was recently hospitalized with the gout in his elbow and Braxton was nowhere in sight to visit him. His estranged wife filed for divorce from him October 2017 after nine years of marriage. The couple share one child together and are going through a custody battle.
