Tyler Perry Buys a House for Ailing Mother of Gospel Singer LaShun Pace

Actor and director Tyler Perry continues to do good in the world, this time by buying a house for the mother of a former collaborator.

Gospel singer and actress LaShun Pace worked with Perry in 1999 on a small play. The “Madea” writer stayed in touch with Pace and recently learned that her mother, Bettie Pace, is greatly ill, TMZ reported.

Perry discovered that Bettie’s dying wish was to own a large enough home suitable for her family. The producer made Bettie’s wish come true and bought a $350,000 house for her in Atlanta not far from the neighborhood where the Paces grew up.

In a heartwarming video recorded by LaShun, her mother Bettie notes, “Tyler Perry, thank you son. … Thank you for the house. God bless you.” The grandmother seemed overjoyed with her new home as she cut a red ribbon off it.

LaShun is a member of gospel group “The Anointed Pace Sisters,” whose song was featured in Perry’s movie “Tyler Perry: Madea’s Family Reunion.”

Perry seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. He recently lent a helping hand to former “Cosby” actor Geoffrey Owens after he was job-shamed for working at Trader Joe’s supermarket. The “Good Deeds” producer offered Owens a gig on OWN’s number one drama “The Haves and the Have Nots.”

Perry tweeted, “#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.”
