Jobs Continue to Pour In for ‘Cosby’ Actor Geoffrey Owens, Gets Offer to Join ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Geoffrey Owens continues to have the upper hand in the aftermath of being photographed bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s.

Photos surfaced last week of the former “Cosby Show” star in a messy shirt working at a New Jersey location of the grocery store and many began job shaming him as a result. But things turned around when several celebrities voiced support for Owens. They even shared their own stories of side jobs they’ve obtained to make ends meet in between acting gigs.

Additionally, Tyler Perry has extended an offer for Owens to appear on his hit OWN show “The Haves and the Have Nots.”

“I don’t expect to be offered things,” Owens tells Entertainment Tonight Wednesday, Sept. 5. “It would be lovely if as one of the results of this, some doors open in terms of giving me the opportunity to audition.”

However, the “Cosby” album is reportedly gearing up to appear in 10 episodes of Perry’s drama and he’s also been contacted by “Dancing with the Stars.”

“To their credit, they [reached out] years ago before this stuff came up,” he explained.

And in addition to the celebrity support Owens has already received, his former “Cosby” co-star Keshia Knight Pulliam has also voiced her fellow actor.

“I support him and I’m happy that this has turned out be such a warm, feel-good story,” she explained to ET.

On a FaceTime call with Owens, Pulliam told him directly how proud she was of him and that “there is nothing wrong with a hard day’s work. Period point blank.”

In response to the latest piece of star support for Ownes, fans have also continued to back up the actor.

“I’ll start watching The Haves and the Have Nots just to see Geoffrey shine.”

“I’ve been feeling so embarrassed lately. I have a 4 year degree and drive uber. This gives me hope :)”

“What the devil meant for evil God is turning it around for his good!!!”
