‘Black-Ish’ Star Develops New Movie Idea After Firing Agent Who Said ‘Just Chill’

Black-Ish” actress Marsai Martin is already making boss moves in Hollywood at such a young age.

Th 13-year-old was recently featured on The Hollywood Reporter’s ” Top 30 Stars Under 18″ and it gave the deets as to how the star is becoming one of film’s biggest movers.

Martin announced that she was executive producing and starring in her very own Universal comedy “Little.” The film centers around a woman who’ll get an opportunity to re-experience her youth after the pressures of adulthood begin to consume her.

The 13-year-old concocted the script idea after terminating a person from her team who failed to suggest new projects.

“After firing the agent who suggested she ‘just chill and take a break’ during a hiatus, the executive producer of 2019’s Little conceived the film, a twist on Tom Hanks’ iconic comedy Big, and even convinced Issa Rae to star alongside her in the Universal feature,” Martin’s profile read on the “Top 30 Stars Under 18” list.

“Girls Trip” writer Tracy Oliver wrote the script that will be directed by Tina Gordon Chism. Also, actresses Regina Hall, Issa Rae and actor Josh Martin will help the teen star executive produce the film.

Martin stars as a twin on “Black-Ish” with Miles Brown. She plays the character Diane Johnson.

The 13-year-old girl said her mother is her hero because “she is the definition of Black girl magic.”
