Mona Scott-Young Replaces Most of the Cast of ‘Love and Hip Hop: New York’ Following Ratings Drop

Love and Hip Hop” executive producer Mona Scott-Young revamped the entire cast of the New York franchise and fans can expect new additions to be added to the crew.

Young was apparently fed up with the drama of the former ‘LHHNY’ crew and the bad ratings of season 8. The producer has allegedly brought back some of the originals members including rapper Joe Budden and his girlfriend Cyn Santana. The couple will allegedly star on the new season and give fans a glimpse of their relationship with their new baby Lexington Budden, according to Bossip.

The source reported that majority of the previous cast-members were fired from the show. Fans speculated cast-mates such as Brittany Taylor, Dream Doll, Snoop, Bianca Bonnie, DJ Self, Lil Mo and her husband Karl Dargan, James R, Sophia Body and possibly Mariah Lynn will not be returning for the new season.

Lynn actually wrote a tweet on Saturday that may have confirmed her departure.

“I think I might be time but I love everyone so much and I’m so grateful for the opportunity,” she stated. “It really has changed my whole life and helped me to learn so much about myself for that I will forever be grateful.”

However, Young does plan on bringing back Juelz Santana’s long-time girlfriend Kimbella and reportedly adding Maino and his girlfriend Maggie Carrie to the season 9 cast. The source reported that the “Hi Hater” rapper received a pretty nice offer of money to be on “LHHNY.”

Other members that are guaranteed to appear on the upcoming season are  Yandy Smith, Jonathon Fernandez, Kiyanne, Jacquae, Anais and her husband Ruben, Rich Dollaz, Safaree, Ju Ju (who will make guest appearances) and viewers favorite couple Remy Ma and Papoose.

The new season for “LHHNY” is still being filmed and VH1 has yet to announce the premiere date.
