NeNe Leakes has clarified her remarks about Kylie Jenner being a self-made billionaire after fans lashed out at her for being a hater.
Jenner landed on the cover of Forbes magazine this week and the finance publication lauded her as the $900 million cosmetics queen who is set to become the youngest self-made billionaire at the age of 21.
“Being on a reality show isn’t so bad, eh? Use your platform correctly, folks!” wrote former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” producer Carlos King on Instagram Wednesday, July 11.
“Well some people get opportunities that others will never get! Just saying! This game ain’t fair,” Leakes fired back.
The remark was met with criticism from other IG users who slammed the RHOA star as a hater.
“Haters gonna hate 🙄.”
“Why you bitter sis?”
“NeNe baby you haven’t gotten anywhere because you’re more about drama than you are your business. Maybe if you’d focus on yourself and starting an actual business, you’d get ahead in life. Only acting a fool on Television isn’t gonna get you very far sweetie…REAL HOUSEWIVES IS A HOUSEHOLD BRAND. You can’t tell me you can’t capitalize off it, if you play your cards right.”
Leakes didn’t take that last comment sitting down and hit right back saying, “sweetie, I’m a millionaire ok and my resume is longgggg! Check it.”
She also addressed the larger group who accused her of bashing the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sibling with a clarification of sorts.
“How do y’all get hating out of what I said! Read between the lines dumbasses! Furthermore, I have had and still have amazing opportunities coming to me. I’ve opened doors for some of my castmates to walk thru so don’t get it twisted! I said what I said and it won’t be changing! Congrats Kylie.”
Even before her clarification, however, several social media shared Leakes’ opinion, saying because of Jenner’s famous and wealthy family, she had the clout to get her beauty brand off the ground.
“Ah yes, Kylie Jenner, self-made, rich woman. How could you not love her backstory? Being born to a lower class family, working menial jobs to make ends meet. Finally getting her big break when her sister made a sex tape that turned into a reality show. You go, girl!”
“Self-made lol. Born into privilege and used that as a startup. Honor the women and men who started with nothing and made billions. The real entrepreneurs who literally had nothing and made it.”
“Forbes put Kylie Jenner on the cover of a magazine about billionaires and called her self-made. She is quite literally neither of those things.”
