The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Cynthia Bailey opened up about not looking her age but definitely feeling her age. Bailey said her health scares were a “wake-up call.”

“I know 51 may look however it looks on me, but I’m still 51 inside,” Bailey told Madame Noire at the McDonald’s 365 Black Awards at Essence Festival. She continued, “I need to lay this thing down and take my vitamins. I gotta get my blood pressure checked. Don’t get it messed up.”

The reality star has faced a few health issues such as fibroids that she said was, “sucking the life out of me.” “The fibroid thing had taken over my life…I literally felt like a pregnant lady all of the time that never delivered a baby, which kind of sucks,” she told HLN back in 2013.

Bailey’s more recent health scare was a tumor in her back. “About four months ago I realized I had a tumor in my back. Thank God it was benign but it was like, ‘Okay, what is this? Am I that busy that I don’t even notice something growing out of my back?,” she told the news site. She added, “That was a huge wake-up call for me. I just want to make sure that I’m good because as ambitious as I am and excited as I am about all the things I have going on, I’m not going to be able to get up and go to work if I’m laid up in a hospital bed so taking care of myself is important.”

The housewife said that she is going to take her health more seriously, “At this point, because of my schedule, sleep is a big thing for me. I don’t sleep a lot so I’ve really been trying to focus on that a lot and just health and wellness.”
