Earlier this week, Lil’ Kim was honored by the New York City Council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus (BLAC) for African American Music Appreciation Month.
Besides a proclamation, she received the City’s 12th Council District Arts and Music Award, plus, the Power of Influence Award.
During the ceremony, the Brooklyn MC was all smiles and gratitude while people sang her praises and talked about her many accomplishments.
There was one moment, however, when Kim’s smile turned into a frown that was pointed at the rapper Maino. It’s been rumored they’ve been romantically involved, which neither have admitted to.
At one point during the ceremony, when Kim was posing for a photo, Maino put his arm around her, which she threw off abruptly.

But even before that moment, there was an awkwardness between the two. Because when someone finished introducing Kim, Maino jumped in and seemed annoyed that he wasn’t called to speak.
“How you gonna ask me to come here and do that and not let me do it,” he said.
Maino then admitted that he wasn’t on speaking terms with Kim, who then called him “crazy.”

Afterwards, a lot of Kim’s fans blasted the male rapper and accused him of stealing Kim’s moment. They also didn’t like how he kept putting his hand on her after she pushed it away.
“I don’t know what Maino did to Lil’ Kim before they posed for pics, but I find nothing funny about him constantly touching her when she clearly doesn’t want him to,” one person tweeted.
“I’m upset because you see her face struggling to keep her composure as Maino repeatedly invades her space, touches her without consent and ruins her moment,” another person wrote. “She shouldn’t have to do that, but we know how reports would be coded if she had gone off.”
At this time, there’s been no word about the awkward moment from Kim or Maino, but you can see what other people had to say below.
Maino is trash for this video but the bigger picture here is NOBODY saw anything wrong w/ what was happening. She’s literally trying to get away from the man and enjoy her moment but is being harassed in front of an entire audience.
