Days after allegations that Michelle Wiliams’ fiancé backs President Donald Trump, the singer and Chad Johnson appear to have issued responses.

On Monday, April 23, media personality Tariq Nasheed posted a screenshot of people Johnson was following — including Trump and other Republican politicians. The same day, another Twitter user shared images of Johnson’s family, who supported police amid the Black Lives Matter movement.

In response, Johnson, who recently announced his engagement to the Destiny’s Child singer after Williams’ epic showing at Coachella, kept his head high when hitting back at the rumors.

“It’s unfortunate that people can reach their limit in celebrating others!” he tweeted in a screenshot from his Instagram story Wednesday, April 25. “Then resort to tearing them down in an attempt to taint a moment of rejoicing… Even if they have to create all out lies to justify their attempts to kill the rejoicing!”

In a separate tweet, the pastor reshared something from August 2017.

“Hate has an army!” it read. “Love is recruiting soldiers as we speak! Who’s in?”

And Johnson wasn’t alone in putting down the claims.

Williams appeared to hit back a day earlier tweeting a Wikipedia entry about reading comprehension skills.

“There are a number of reading strategies to improve reading comprehension and inferences, including improving one’s vocabulary, critical text analysis (intertextuality, actual events vs. narration of events, etc.) and practicing deep reading,” she posted adding the acronym for “reading is fundamental.”

“Reading comprehension is the ability to process text, understand its meaning, and to integrate it with what the reader already knows,” she added in a separate post.

In response, fans had Williams’ and Johnson’s support.

“Congratulations to you and Chad. Ignore Tariq the Sheep,” someone tweeted. “Also, don’t beat yourself up if you’ve never heard of him. Just block and delete.”

“A read lol,” someone else simply said.

Still, at least one wasn’t convinced.

“Michelle Williams’ new white man hasn’t said outright that he didn’t vote for Trump. He hasn’t denounced the racist and bigoted views attributed to people in his family,” they tweeted. “You’re either with us or against us. Michelle gon f— around and get fired by Blue Ivy and Black ass Bey.”
