The Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics were competitors once the buzzer sounded at Sunday’s game, but the NBA teams joined forces to deliver a powerful PSA honoring 22-year-old Stephon Clark who was tragically murdered by Sacramento police officers March 18.

The public service announcement features members from both teams broadcasting an inspiring message of unity and change.

“These tragedies have to stop. There must be accountability. Black. White. Brown. We are one. We are one. One. We will not stick to sports. We will not shut up and dribble. This is bigger than basketball. Change can be uncomfortable. Change is necessary. We need to talk. We need to act. We matter. We must unite. Say his name. Stephon Clark. Stephon Clark,” the PSA reads.

The NBA players also wore warm-up shirts with the words,”Accountability. We Are One.” on the front and “#StephonClark” on the back.

Brad Stevens, Celtics Coach, told Celtics.Com, “We just wanted to play a small part, since we were coming to town, in things that we’ve talked about that are really important to our team and our locker room.”

Former Kings players’ DeMarcus Cousins and Matt Barnes have offered to pay for Clark’s funeral.
