“Black Panther” was more than just another superhero film, it became a movement. The joy of Black moviegoers seeing themselves on the big screen has sparked numerous challenges and memes. The M’Baku challenge is perhaps the most popular and helped a 7-year-old fan land an interview with “Good Morning America”.
Jordan Ralph and his mom told Michael Strahan on last week’s episode of GMA that after seeing a video of another fan doing the challenge, they were inspired to do their own. “We know those lines too so let’s make a video,” she shared. Jordan’s video of him reenacting the fan-favorite scene of M’Baku challenging T’Challa to the throne garnered over 10 million views.
Jordan caught the eye of “Black Panther” actor Winston Duke who played M’Baku. Duke made a special video message for the little fan, “Jordan, I M’Baku wish to make you an honorary member of my tribe. Thank you for killing the M’Baku challenge you are amazing.”
Jordan also received a special response from Michael B. Jordan who played the protagonist Killmonger. “Lil man you nailed it.” Watch Jordan’s video below.
