Fans and celebrities alike are offering their thoughts and prayers to rapper Rick Ross amid reports he was rushed to the hospital after he was found unconscious at his Florida home early Thursday morning.
News of the rapper’s condition quickly flooded social media, giving rise to conflicting reports about what may have led to his hospitalization. TMZ broke the story on Friday, saying someone from Ross’ home dialed 911 to report an individual in distress who was breathing heavily and unconscious. They say Ross was also “slobbing at the mouth.”
The rapper is reportedly getting treatment at a Miami area hospital in the cardiac unit, as it appears he may have suffered a heart attack that manifested itself as breathing issues on Thursday. It should be noted the rapper also has a history of suffering seizures.
A source is claimed to have told the celebrity news site that Ross was at one point placed on an EMCO, or breathing machine, that takes over the function of the heart and lungs to help restore oxygen to his blood. Family members have since refuted this claim, however, saying the rapper is okay and was never on life support.
