Isaiah Washington has boldly declared his support for comedian Mo’Nique by bashing Charlamagne tha God. The star of “The 100” tweeted out his feelings following Mo’Nique’s interview on “The Breakfast Club” Friday, Feb. 23.
“@cthagod You labeled me the ‘Donkey of the Day’ and I let it slide because you don’t know better,” Washington wrote in a since-deleted tweeted. “But when you come for my family @moworldwide that makes you a ‘B—- Ass N—-‘ that needs to be checked. Stay in your lane homie. Nothing to see here boy.”
The former “Grey’s Anatomy” star was labeled “Donkey of the Day” in 2015 when he told Chris Rock, who had been pulled over, “I sold my $90,000.00 Mercedes G500 and bought 3 Prius’s because I got tired of being pulled over by Police. #Adapt.”
Washington had starred with Mo’Nique in the 2015 drama “Blackbird,” and while neither Charlamagne nor Mo’Nique have said anything in reaction to Washington’s tweet, others have weighed in on the radio host’s public chastising and her reaction.
“She’s mad bcuz he said donkey of the day, that’s basically his form of stand up — it ain’t that deep or that personal,” someone tweeted. “Mo’Nique is literally playing the victim in every instance she can, and it’s embarrassing. Also, the hair textures don’t match in that Bun 🤷🏾♂️”
“Lenard should take the title of ‘Donkey of the Day’ for devaluing Black women,” someone else said. “He’s headed for the ‘sunken place’ #Monique did right to check him.”
“Monique mad as hell @cthagod gave her donkey of the day lmao b—- bye,” another person remarked.
“Just watched Monique on the Breakfast Club in its entirety and she makes some fair points tbh,” another person commented. “She just took it too far by comparing herself to Chris Rock & [Dave] Chappelle and using the ‘you hate Black women’ rhetoric over being donkey of the day. Lol.”
