Many fans were sad and disappointed that performer Janet Jackson was not present at the Superbowl on Sunday (Feb. 4). However, they showed their love by creating a social-media campaign #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay making her a top-five trending topic on Twitter. The campaign was also a way to protest Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance after he ripped off Miss Jackson’s costume that displayed her nipple publicly in 2004. Although the tweets were to celebrate the singer’s influence on music, not everyone was here for “Janet Jackson Day”.
Especially comedian Michael Rapaport who took shots at Jackson on Twitter.
Can anybody crying for Janet Jackson right now tell me the last Janet Jackson song that was popping?
Motherfucka’s wanna make nothing something 24/7/365 & Super Bowl Sunday— MichaelRapaport (@MichaelRapaport) February 5, 2018
He then tweeted a picture of Janet with her now former husband Wissam Al Mana with the caption, “Queen of the 90s”, and wrote, “There’s no little girl under 18 who’s heard from Janet in 10 yrs”.
I fux with Janet but she’s been off the grid.
Remember she shut shit down married/divorced this billionaire dude who had her rocking Burka’s and all that#JanetJackson pic.twitter.com/CSTBcHnWtr— MichaelRapaport (@MichaelRapaport) February 5, 2018
He also came for television personality Elgin Harris when the Hollywood hairdresser told Rapaport to put some respect on Jackson’s name.
If you find me saying JJ is a “has been” I’ll come hit your hair with a straightening comb, if you can’t find that you come wash my car.
Bet? PLEASE take the bet.
My car is dusty AF— MichaelRapaport (@MichaelRapaport) February 5, 2018
Jackson fans weren’t too happy and quickly came to her defense, shredding Rapaport to pieces.
Michael Rapaport talking about what's the last hit Janet had popping as if the last tv show, White Famous, he was on didn't just get canceled after one season. What was the last hit movie he was in?

The audacity of anyone, let alone a white man and ESPECIALLY Michael Rapaport, to ask when Janet was last relevant. A legend is always relevant, culture vulture. Know your place.

I asked my teenage son if he knew who Janet Jackson was. He rolled his eyes, like doesn't everyone. I then asked if he knew who Michael rapaport was, He said Who.
