Wendy Williams discussed Mo’Nique’s ongoing issue with Netflix on her show Jan. 23. Williams started off discussing the different offers between Mo’Nique’s $500,000, Amy Schumer’s $13,000,000, Dave Chappelle’s and Chris Rock’s $20,000,000. Williams, known for dragging celebs, was surprisingly on Mo’Nique’s side. Williams said, “I think this is a color thing, a gender thing, and..Mo’Nique might not be doing anything but a podcast now but I mean… she’s good for $2 million.” She continues, “They said she walked out on the deal in the name of women… if I take $500,000 they are gonna offer the next women $100,000- they’re gonna say Mo’Nique’s an Oscar winner and she took $500,000.”

Then she rolled the video of Mo’Nique on ‘Sway in the Morning’ talking about her reasoning for not taking the offer. In the clip Mo’Nique says “I couldn’t take that offer because if I did- I couldn’t sleep at night.” she says “Because I am, and I say this humbly, I am the most decorated comedian alive. But If I had accepted that $500,000, what does Tiffany Haddish have coming? If I accept that what does the black female comedian have coming..?”

It wouldn’t be Wendy Williams if she didn’t throw a little shade somewhere, she said, “How is she the most decorated comedian alive, what does that mean?” But she closes this topic off by saying “Good decision Mo’Nique, I’m sorry about what happened.”
