Bruno Mars dropped the video for his song “Finesse” Wednesday, Jan. 3 and the clip, which is a remix featuring Cardi B, has won the approval from the Wayans family. Inspired by one of his favorite TV shows, “In Living Color,” Mars and Cardi recreated the paint-splattered intro and the iconic dance breaks made famous by the Fly Girls.
The ’90s hit sketch comedy series from oldest brother Keenan Ivory Wayans launched the careers of Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx, to name a couple. But was also well-known for featuring hip-hop and R&B acts like Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Easy-E and Heavy D & The Boyz, who also performed the show’s theme song.
After the “Finesse” clip dropped, Damon Wayans, who famously appeared as Homey D. Clown, Kim Wayans, known for her role as Benita Butrell, and other members of the family applauded the dedication.
