Is Samantha Markle Trying to Defend Half Sister Meghan Markle Or Get Her 15 Minutes of Fame?

The half-sister of soon-to-be royal Meghan Markle seems to be pretty upset over recent comments by Prince Harry. Samantha Markle, who is publishing a memoir titled, “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister,” swooped to clarify that her famous sister has had great Christmases before the royal family.

A Daily Express royal correspondent tweeted about Harry’s comments to “BBC Radio 4 Today” about how his fiancée got on with his family.

In addition to the remarks about Christmas at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham House, Harry said, “the family loved having her there.”

Soon, Samantha, rumored to be gearing up for a reality show, chimed in to give a lengthy explanation about why Christmas with the Royals did not include the family the former “Suits” actress “never had.”

But many didn’t necessarily side with Samantha and instead interpreted her comments as a way to keep her name in the spotlight for her book. She’s previously been accused of using Meghan’s name to cash in but told the Daily Mail her biography referencing Meghan as “pushy” wasn’t her doing.

“The title is a mockery of the media,” Samantha said. “It wasn’t me who called Meg ‘pushy,’ it was the tabloid newspapers. She is not pushy. The book isn’t going to be negative — it’s a warm, witty, honoring book — unfortunately, the negative sing-song has gone ’round the world.”

One called out Samantha’s less than reputable prior statements.

@Summer4353 isn’t necessarily wrong, either.

Samantha claimed she and Meghan have barely spoken since 2008 when the 52-year-old was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, according to Us Weekly. Yet, she put down reports of their estrangement on Good Morning Britain in October. Regarding past interviews where Samantha dove into the family’s racial woes and said Meghan has a “soft spot for gingers,” the estranged half-sister explained. “It’s been such a whirlwind with us.”

“I’m sad she believed some of the other interviews I did where words I never said were taken out of context, so it’s been a bit since we’ve spoken,” she added.
