Jim Jones and his family suffered a personal tragedy on Christmas. The “Love & Hip Hop” star’s mother lost her home to a house fire but the MC remains thankful for the reason for the season.
“On this Christmas, my mom’s house just burned down,” he says in an Instagram video standing in front of the firefighters and the old home. “But the best gift of all is that my family is together, everybody is safe. It’s just crazy. I don’t know man. Christmas was going good … I don’t know.
“Sometimes you just gotta count your blessings and one blessing we have is we got my family,” he continued. “We could always buy new houses. We could buy everything new, but we can’t buy family new. So maybe this is the time we could be closer together anyway. We might [sic] needed that. I don’t know if this was the price to pay for that but they say God does everything for a reason.”

The house fire hit especially hard since Jones bought Nancy Jones the dwelling to make good on a promise he made her as a child.
