Cardi B‘s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” was anything but routine, as the rapper made it her own. The “Bodak Yellow” performer stopped by to discuss her engagement to Migos rapper Offset and her new single, “Bartier Cardi.” Filled with high pitched purs and her signature New York accent, Fallon couldn’t stop laughing. But haters couldn’t find the humor in her responses.
When asked if she was from the Bronx, Cardi B responded, “Mmm hmm. Owwww” as Fallon held in his laughter.
But the comedian really couldn’t couldn’t contain himself as the MC explained why she wasn’t getting any adults Christmas presents
“I got new godkids outta nowhere,” she says Thursday, Dec. 22. “You know once you start making money, everybody want you to be their kids’ godmother.”
Then, Cardi shared the story of how she became engaged to Offset.
“He’d always tell me, ‘I’m gonna marry you,’ and I’m like, ‘Mmm hmm. It’s the right thing to do,'” she says. “But I know he was gonna get me a very expensive gift because he wasn’t there for my birthday. But I thought he was gon’ get me a watch or something. But he just, he just went out his way, okurrrr.”
The talk show host paused to laugh along with the audience and he later busted out a Cardi B chirp of his own — her spirit seemed contagious.
