Actor Terry Crews has officially filed a lawsuit against the agent he accused of groping him. Adam Venit was placed on leave by William Morris Endeavor agency after Crews went public with his allegations. Venit has since returned to the agency but Crews is not backing down from his case.
In documents obtained by TMZ Tuesday, Dec. 5, Crews alleges Venit stared at him “like a rabid dog, sticking his tongue in and out of his mouth provocatively” at a February 2016 event. After the incident, Crews said he told actor Adam Sandler, who is Venit’s client, to “come get your boy! He’s grabbing my nuts.”
The docs also noted Sandler was shocked by his agent’s actions.
The statement falls in line with what Crews told “Good Morning America” in November, where, as in the filing, he also said he has never felt more emasculated in his life.
Crews also said in the documents that Venit called to apologize for what he did, saying he wasn’t himself that night. The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star said he met with WME co-CEO and chairman Ari Emanuel, who apologized for the way Venit acted. Giving more reason as to why Crews didn’t hit back, the docs state the actor feared retaliation. However, Emanuel assured Crews that Venit, “did not have that level of power despite his title as head of the Motion Picture Department.”
Crews also sent a letter to Emanuel calling for Hollywood to blacklist Venit. But, he tweeted Nov. 27, Emanuel allegedly told him, “it’s different” than the Mel Gibson ant-Semitism scandal, which Emanuel wrote a similar letter about.

Still, Venit was welcomed back to WME after a brief absence, which Crews, who has already filed a police report against Venit, blasted as the agent getting a “pass.”
Yet while Crews hasn’t seen support from WME, many on Twitter have continued to back him up. He’s tweeted his gratitude for such responses over the last several days, including one to host John Oliver, who grilled Dustin Hoffman over the “Rain Man” actor’s sexual assault allegations.

The amount of damages Crews seeks is not known but he also cited psychological suffering as one of his issues in the suit.
