Issa Rae had the perfect answer when a Twitter user called her a racist and slammed her for rooting for Black people at the Emmys.
Marcia Brady would be proud.
The controversy stemmed from the “Insecure” creator’s happy explanation of who she was supporting during a red carpet appearance.
“I’m rooting for everybody Black,” she told Variety on Sunday, Sept. 17. “I am!”
While Black Twitter fawned over the admission…
She is us, this is why we love her so: https://t.co/7dAmgGnqBH
