New York Fashion Week is finally here, but Kanye West fans will be disappointed to learn that the rapper might not debut his Yeezy Season Six collection this week.
According to The Business of Fashion, West canceled the fashion show without providing any reason. A representative for Redken, the beauty brand scheduled to work on the show behind the scenes, sent an email to attendees and the fashion industry stating the show is canceled. Initially, representatives for Kanye West and Adidas did not respond; however, Adidas issued a statement addressing reports of a show cancellation on Wednesday, Sept. 6, stating: “No announcements regarding a Yeezy Season 6 presentation have been made by West Brands, Kanye West, or Adidas. Any information being reported at this time is merely speculation.”
Is this one big prank?
Perhaps, but this isn’t the Chicago rapper’s first time canceling scheduled events. In November, West canceled the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour due to exhaustion. A source told People in November, “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work — which is extremely important to him — and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out.”

Best of luck to West and hopefully we’ll see his new line on the runway.
