Five months after a highly publicized exit from NBC’s “Today Show,” the journalist is bouncing back by hosting her own talk show, thanks to a partnership with Weinstein Television, according to a Wednesday, July 12, report from The Hollywood Reporter.

The unnamed project, which is currently in development and has no network as of yet, will feature human interest stories and current events alongside comprehensive interviews with newsmakers and celebrities. Hall will executive produce and co-create the daily series, which will be filmed in front of a live studio audience.

“I’ve been working toward developing a talk show for a long time but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead,” said The Weinstein Company co-chairman Harvey Weinstein in a statement to various industry outlets. “Tamron is far and away that person. She’s an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard hitting. We couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her.”

Hall announced the news on her social media pages Wednesday, which follows her sudden departure from NBC in February after three years of co-anchoring the network’s morning news program and hosting “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall.”

The former anchor left the company amid discussions about where it would place former Fox News host Megyn Kelly in the network’s morning lineup and Variety reported Tuesday that Kelly’s program will air at 9 a.m. beginning Sept. 25.
