Singer Tyrese Gibson confirmed his wife is indeed a #BlackQueen after his surprise wedding announcement was overshadowed by some fans questioning whether she was Black at all.

Gibson stuck up for his bride, known as Samantha Lee, by sharing TMZ’s report noting her ethnicity as Ecuadorian, Jamaican and African-American.

“TMZ actually got it right! This time!” Gibson wrote.

The “Fast and Furious” actor announced his Valentine’s Day nuptials on Instagram Tuesday, Feb. 28, which featured photos of the actor and Lee at their ceremony and walking along a beach at sunset.

“Mark 10:8 And the two will become #OneFlesh Mr. & Mrs. Gibson. #MyBlackQueen #GrownManSeason,” he captioned the Instagram post, which he soon deleted amid speculation over Lee’s race.

”We’re humbled by the outpouring of love! We appreciate all of the prayers and well wishes,” Gibson wrote in another deleted post. “Sometimes, when you pray you get exactly what your heart desires. I got #MyBlackQueen I didn’t just marry her I married my daughter’s new example. ‘We are all flawed, sinners and have made mistakes but I hope you decide to keep loving, keep the faith and God will to send you what’s yours…. #Amen.’ ”

Soon fans questioned her looks.

Fans dug deeper into Lee’s ethnicity and found her given name is Samantha Schwalenberg, as seen on her LinkedIn profile. They also discovered her participation in the “Mr. and Mrs. Latin UGA pageant in 2011, while she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. Straight From The A also claimed Lee’s mother is Latina and her father is white, with photos from her now-privatized Facebook page as evidence.

Others felt her race shouldn’t be a factor.
