After Kanye West was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation in November, his producer, Malik Yusef, said the rapper’s memory is coming back as he recovers.

West was admitted to UCLA Medical Center after reportedly suffering a mental breakdown and, although reports said he tried to work from his hospital bed ahead of his release, Yusef told Popsugar the MC is only focused on getting better.

“He’s not working, just going through processes,” West’s “The Life of Pablo” collaborator said from the Grammys red carpet Sunday, Feb. 12.

One thing the rapper, who has openly discussed his anxiety and depression in the past, is also working through is sorting out his memory loss.

“His memory is coming back, which is super good,” Yusef said. “He’s just healing, spending time with his family. [Youngest child] Saint is getting big and he’s walking and playing with toys, so that invigorates [Kanye].”
